This is the time of year we like the most. Lots of wonderful items to harvest. In the box this week we have some wonderful fruits and vegetables.
This is the first year we have ever grown turnips. There is a recipe on our website for them. They can be fixed either with a sweetener like brown sugar or maple syrup, or savory with onions and seasonings.
Triple crown berries are my favorite to pick because thery are thornless! Much easier on the arms and legs! And they are so delicious. We will have them for a while.
Yellow wax beans have a mild flavor, and are a nice change from green beans. Some of our customers even eat them raw!
We have hermiston melons here at the store if you are planning a picnic this week! Mix melon with the berries for a wonderful fruit salad.
Add the peppers to the zucchini for a tasty side dish for dinner.
We had some corn last night from our field and it is sooo close. Next week!
Enjoy this wonderful weather and we'll see you soon!
Nancy and team.
