October 27th Notes

The frost is on the pumpkin as the saying goes! We were harvsting like crazy the last few days to salvage what we could before the frost came. 29 degrees on Wed morning. Brrrr....
We are pretty sure this will be the last of the corn. We may pick a few more ears for the weekend.
However, cauliflower, cabbage, brussels sprouts and broccoli all taste better after a frost. We included a recipe for sauerkraut this week. It is really easy to make, and so much better than anything you can buy at the store! Give it a try.
Our cooler is full of peppers. We saved almost all of them. The tomatoes are really delicious right now. Enjoy.
As I mentioned before we do not spray our potatoes with any pesticides, so you may have to trim away some parts--better than the alternative!
Come see us this weekend for horse dawn carriage rides from 12-5 on Saturday--so much fun!
