Well the cold mornings are here to stay! Brrrr....We are really excited about the fresh sauerkraut that we are making. In the CSA box today is pink sauerkraut, made with Green and Red Cabbage. We also have jalapeno...we need to put in twice as many jalapenos in the next batch! Yesterday we made apple suaerkraut. We will have it available for sale at our store over the next few months. Try some!
Fall says it's apple time! Enjoy the crunchy sweetmess of the apple that our friend grows for us. We have one box of cider apples left--great for sauce too.
We have been working on rearranging the store getting ready fo the Thanksgiving-Christmas season. Lisa is busy creating gourd cenerpieces and wreaths. We have lots of wonderful specialty food to make your holiday meals memorable.
There is always something going on around here that's for sure! Carl disced and planted cover crop seed yesterday. He did the fields that had our pumpkins and corn maze. The chickens are enjoying the left over pumpkins. The ducks are free to roam around the fields during the day, then back into their pen in the aftternoon. They wander much less that the chickens. Plus, Carl gathered 16 eggs yesterday--they must enjoy the freedom. It still amazes me how they love tomatoes!
We always welcome you to our place! See you soon.
Remember ladies night...the menu sounds great!
Nancy and team.
