Well today marks the first day of summer and it is arriving with a few sunny days! Yeah!
The strawberries are so delicious right now. Slice a bowl and enjoy them just as they are, or add to a salad, or as Carl likes--with vanilla ice cream!
Baby beets can be cooked on the bbq or roasted in the oven. At 415 degrees for about 15 minutes to half an hour. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, yum. I never liked beets until we started growing them and we would cook them up right after harvesting.
Asparagus won't last much longer, so enjoy. Slice the onions and either saute or bbq them together. Add some of the fresh herbs for a fast, healty side dish.
With the warm weather these next few days, fresh salad greens are so refreshing to have with the rest of your meal.
We have been busy planting lots of things that we will be harvesting for you to add to those salad greens--tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and onions.
Have a good week.
