The harvesters have been busy this week. Strawberries are wonderful, but winding down. We do have some Seascape on black plastic that are starting to ripen. So we will have berries off and on for several weeks.
The raspberries are so close! A couple more sunny days and they will be ready.
The blueberries are still green--hopefully the birds won't eat all the ones that are turning blue!
Carl picked some baby zucchini--we cooked them up with a walla walla onion and basil. Yum.
Kohlrabi is ready right now. It is related to broccoli. You can eat it raw or cooked. I like it sliced raw in salads or sandwiches. Last summer a man at our booth at the Cascade Foothills Saturday Faire bought one and sliced it and ate it right there!
Fresh basil is a staple during the summer months. Sprinkle on tomatoes, salads, potatoes--anything--become an instant gourmet chef!
