July 5 Produce Box Notes

The strawberries are so delicious. And the end is in sight--so enjoy. Might want to freeze a few for winter!
Home grown cauliflower always looks a little funny compared to store bought. But the varieties we choose are for flavor, not looks. It is melt in your mouth delicious. Of course Carl likes his with Tillamook cheese grated over the top--or better yet Willamette Valley Cheese!
Broccoli is also a little funny looking, but very tasty-just steam lightly. Do not overcook, it gets too mushy and doesn't taste as good.
The walla walla onions are so sweet. Cook them for a while at a low temperature then stir in some of the peas and carrots, sprinkle with basil, and you'll be in vegetable heaven!
The raspberries and blueberries are starting to show some color! And the summer squash is flowering. Might have some baby ones for next week's box.
Be sure to mark you calendar for our berry festival on July 16th. Tasting, desserts, lunch, music and a variety of vendors.
If you have an art or craft you do and would like to have a space, give me a call or emial.
Enjoy.
