I'm running late today because I have been out picking marion berries, blueberrie and raspberries. The raspberries are about over. Sad to say. We have some frozen for you to purchase over the winter, but the fresh season is over by early next week. The blueberries are awesome right now. The bushes are loaded, the weather is warm and the berries are sweet. We also bag these and freeze them for winter time enjoyment. The marionberries will be winding up next week. Our Marionberry jam is famous, so if you haven't ever had any, give it a try--really good stirred into oatmeal.
We planted over 2000 cauliflower plants this week, so our fall cauliflower should be bountiful. It tastes so creamy.
The weeds are growing like mad. I spent Sunday and Monday listening to a book on my Ipod and weeding. THe carrots, onions and beets are much happier.
We were able to pick enough tomatoes for a few pints--they will be ripening soon. Especially with this nice sunny weather we are having!
If you are going to be in Stayton this Saturday, stop by our Summerfest booth. We are usually be Jensen Kreitzer clothing. Should be a wonderful day!
See you soon,. Nancy
