July 19 and 21 Notes

Well we woke up to rain 2 days this week! We can't pick berries in the rain-especially raspberries, they fall apart! So we have to pick in between showers. Oh well, gives us time to do much needed weeding.
The summer squash is ripening. We have regular zucchini, yellow zucchini, crookneck, and patty pan.
We are in the middle of planting about 2000 cauliflower plants-- so we will have a nice supply for our store and the CSA boxes. Nice fall crop. And our home grown cauliflower tastes nothing like store bought cauliflower!
Our cherry tree is loaded with cherries but the rain spit them all. Such a bummer! We can eat them, but they don't look so good! We hope to get some from a fellow farmer.
The new potatoes are almost ready to dig---and what a treat they are! We have many colors and flavors!
A few tomatoes are turning..so lots of good harvest ahead of us!
