Farming the week of Aug 21
August 23, 2011 at 1:24 PM
The sun is shining so wonderfully! Tomatoes are ripening, strawberries are coming around again, raspberries are setting on, peppers are ripening and many other crops are doing great.
The one crop that is funny is the white cauliflower. It is turning a little bit purple--but the flavor is still wonderful. We had some last night with a touch of Tillamook Cheddar cheese. Yum.
The blueberries are amazing this year, they just keep ripening. We are almost finished with them--so enjoy! The Triple Crowns are a delicious blackberry that we will be harvesting for several more weeks.
Our daughter Naomi helped us make salsa last night. We have enough of all the ingredients except cilantro. So hopefully next week we can have the makings and a recipe for everyone to enjoy a batch of homemade salsa.
Enjoy your summer.
See you soon.
Nancy
